Initial Assessment/Consultation

Initial assessment or consultation will consist of one to three visits. Dr. Du will spend this time with you to gain a comprehensive understanding of you as a person as well as your psychological, psychiatric, medical, family, and relationship history. She will then work with you to develop the best treatment plan to achieve your goals.  The first session is one hour and each subsequent session will be forty-five minutes.

Psychotherapy

Dr. Du offers a wide range of modalities depending on your preferences and needs. The type of psychotherapy will be a dynamic point of discussion with you to find the best 'fit' for each individual. Types of psychotherapeutic approaches include Insight-Oriented Psychotherapy, Supportive Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness techniques. Psychotherapy appointments generally take place weekly, however Dr. Du will work together with you to decide on the frequency that would best meet your needs. All psychotherapy appointments are forty-five minutes in duration.

Psychiatric Medication Management

Dr. Du takes a person-centered approach to psychiatric medication management for a wide range of mood and anxiety disorders. Individuals will be encouraged to engage in some form of psychotherapy in addition to medication treatment. Medication management appointments are thirty to forty-five minutes in duration.

Virtual Appointments

Dr. Du is licensed to practice in Texas and North Carolina. She offers in-person appointments at her office in Carrboro, NC. She also offers virtual appointments via Zoom for patients in Texas or North Carolina.
